9:33 p.m., District: District Administrator Josef Niedermaier was clearly superior in the election. Challenger Anton Demmel was only able to gather a majority of the voters behind him (59.58 percent) in his home town of Königsdorf. Otherwise Demmel was inferior in every other community in Niedermaier. Niedermaier performed the strongest in Schlehdorf (71.34 percent), in his home town of Bad Tölz Niedermaier received 70.95 percent of the vote.

21:31, district: The turnout in the district election was 57.99 percent. Josef Niedermaier received 36,594 votes (62.80 percent), Anton Demmel 21,674 votes (37.20 percent).

9.30 p.m., district: Now the result of the district election is also known. The incumbent Josef Niedermaier was elected to the district government for another six years. Niedermaier won the runoff election with 62.80 percent against challenger Anton Demmel (37.20 percent).

9:25 pm, Icking: Verena Reithmann reacted to her election victory in Icking with a big smile. "I didn't know if it was going to be tight," said the 52-year-old to our newspaper. As is well known, there is no election party today because of Corona. "But I am happy to be with my family," said Reithmann. Meanwhile, Laura von Beckerath-Leismüller is a fair loser. The citizens would want to continue, they must now accept that. "I got to know a lot of UBI during the election campaign and I can imagine that we can work together successfully," said Leismüller.

8:34 pm, Wolfratshausen: Klaus Heilinglechner followed the counting of the mayor runoff in Wolfratshausen in a video conference with members of the citizens' association. "I had expected the runoff election to be narrower," says Heilinglechner. Now it is crucial to create a "broad base across party borders". A lot has to be “reconsidered”. 7:50 p.m., district: The election victory of Josef Niedermaier (free voters) can no longer be shaken. After counting 78 out of 88 voting districts, he is 63.1 percent ahead of challenger Anton Demmel (CSU) and can therefore prepare for his third term.

7.41 p.m., district: The results from the cities of Bad Tölz and Geretsried are now available for the district election. In Bad Tölz, Josef Niedermaier (FW) achieved 70.95 percent, Anton Demmel (CSU) 29.05. In Geretsried, Niedermaier's lead is a little closer - but still clear enough. The incumbent district administrator receives 54.7 percent in Geretsried, Demmel has 45.3 percent.

19:38, Wolfratshausen: In Wolfratshausen the counting is still running. Incumbent Klaus Heilinglechner currently leads with 55.42 percent of the vote (10 out of 12 quick reports), but he still has to fear until the result is known later.

7:33 p.m., District: District Administrator Josef Niedermaier is still clearly ahead. After 73 out of 88 quick reports, Niedermaier got 63.97 percent of the votes, Anton Demmel 36.03 percent.

7:31 pm, Lenggries: A look into the southern district: The mayor runoff in Lenggries is fully counted. The bottom line was a clear thing: Markus Landthaler (FW) becomes mayor. He gets 65.6 percent of the vote. Wolfgang Morlang (Bavarian party) has to be satisfied with 34.4 percent.

7:25 p.m., district: As can be seen, the turnout for a runoff election is relatively decent. In the municipalities that have already fully counted the district election, it is between 56 percent (Kochel am See) and 68 percent (Gaißach).

7.18 p.m., Icking: The turnout in Icking is impressive . 73.99 percent of those entitled to vote in Icking cast their vote in the mayoral runoff election. Winner Verena Reithmann (UBI) received 1325 votes (62.86 percent), Laura von Beckerath-Leismüller (Greens) received 783 votes (37.14 percent).
