Governmental and non-governmental efforts in the governorates to address the Corona virus are continuing through the organization of sterilization and cleaning campaigns in neighborhoods, markets, streets and institutions. In Damascus, the Hygiene Directorate workshops continued to sterilize by tanks and hand pumps in many areas and neighborhoods of the city, as part of the precautionary measures to address the emerging Corona virus.

The Director of Hygiene in the Governorate, Eng. Imad Al-Ali, stated in a statement to SANA today that the sterilization campaign included the Bab Touma square and its surroundings, a number of lanes and neighborhoods in old Damascus, Al-Zahira Square and Al-Shaghour, the schools of Mazzeh, the airport road, the vicinity of the reserve ovens in Al-Mazzeh and Al-Zahira in Al-Tadamun, and the son of the Brigadier, Berkeldin in addition to Shamdeen Square, Ibn Al-Ameed Street, Al-Zaynabiya, Harat in Rukn Al-Din and a number of streets in the Dummar Project.

In Sweida, sterilization campaigns continued, as in Shehba in cooperation with the local community, neighborhoods from the northeastern part of the city and storefronts were sterilized on the main highway, the court road, the starting center, and the municipal slaughterhouse, according to the head of the city council, lawyer Jalal Danon.

Raafat al-Hamdan, a resident of the city of Shahba, who offers his tractor with the sprinkler daily to support sterilization campaigns, stated that his participation comes out of his sense of responsibility and his national and humanitarian duty towards his countrymen.

For its part, Karama Foundation for Social Development started a two-day initiative that includes the distribution of portable oxygen generators, masks, gloves and sterilization materials.

The initiative's coordinator from the Foundation, Karam Matar, stated that the initiative included the national hospitals of As-Suwayda, Salalah and the branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, its people and points in Mafa’la and Kafr al-Quil, provided that it also includes comprehensive specialized clinics and a number of health centers and seminal people.

In Homs, various governmental and private activities continue sterilization and cleaning operations for various public and private facilities.

In this regard, the General Company for Roads and Bridges, Homs Branch, has taken precautionary measures, whereby the specialized cadres of the company have sterilized all the workshops, production centers, all mass transportation modes and service vehicles, in addition to sterilizing water tanks daily.

Engineer Shahid Hallas, director of the General Company for Roads and Bridges, pointed out that the campaign was launched a few days ago and is continuing with the aim of preserving the safety of workers and citizens.

Homs City Council continues to campaign for hygiene and sterilization in the neighborhoods of the city, which today included the Hamidiyeh neighborhood, the industrial zone, the Paradise Cemetery Street, the Iskenderun Street and the Zaidel Road, while the Cleanliness Directorate is working to relocate and clean the 60th Street from the Abbasiyya Roundabout to the intersection of Salamiya Street in addition to many cleaning campaigns implemented by the municipalities where The Eastern Damina municipality in Homs countryside is implementing a sterilization campaign in cooperation with local community activities.

In Talkalakh, the city council continues campaigns to sterilize the official circles, sidewalks, streets in the city, and many of its villages.
