But the Corona pandemic thwarted the Geretsrieder's plans. Instead, there was coffee and cake at home - with lots of gifts that his friends had put on his doorstep.

That also came to the door to pick up the parcels and parcels that were on the doorstep. "It was a great surprise," says the 18-year-old from our newspaper.

A birthday cake in the shape of an 18 decorated with a stracciatella flavor and lots of strawberries also caused a wide grin on the face of the high school student.
Hammerschmied did not miss the opportunity to get into his first own car, which stood in the courtyard - a silver-colored used Opel Corsa. "Finally I can drive alone," he reports proudly.

Hammerschmied actually wanted to celebrate his 18th birthday with some friends. "Now we're just postponing the celebration until later. I'll be 19 too, ”says Geretsrieder with a wink.
