Coronavirus: in the United States, "a decentralized and unequal health system"

INTERVIEW - The United States, now the country most affected by the Covid-19 virus with more than 137,000 cases, has lagged behind in managing the crisis, explains Élisa Chelle, specialist in the American healthcare system.


The American health system, decentralized and unequal, must now catch up with the delay in managing the coronavirus pandemic. The exceptional measures voted in Congress can, however, help it to cope, explains Élisa Chelle, professor of political science at Paris Nanterre University and author of Understanding health policy in the United States *.
