A number of greenhouses planted with vegetables were damaged in the Jableh area of Lattakia countryside due to the weather conditions that took over the area yesterday.
Engineer Munther Khair Bek, Director of Lattakia Agriculture, said in a statement to SANA correspondent today that preliminary information showed that the damages were confined to eight plastic houses planted with vegetables in the Al-Rahebiya area in the Jableh region due to exposure to air currents that completely uprooted them, explaining that these houses are not licensed.
He added that the rest of the crops and fruit trees in the governorate are in good condition and have not been affected significantly.
