2019 Income Campaign: how to file the return

2020-04-01T13:06:44.346Z

Despite the state of alarm, the Tax Agency continues to give the option of delivering the declaration in person

The 2019 Income Statement campaign starts this Wednesday despite the state of alarm that keeps the country paralyzed. This year, taxpayers will have from April 1 to June 30 to formalize their accounts with the Treasury. Among the novelties of this campaign are a new way of declaring real estate and a different taxation of prizes.

On the contrary, this year the formulas for presenting the declaration have not changed in broad strokes compared to those available for the 2018 financial year. Thus, although the coronavirus currently maintains a large part of the population locked up in their homes, The option to present the income in person is still available.

First of all, the first thing is to be clear if you have the obligation to file the statement and then evaluate whether or not you compensate if you have an option to choose. This year citizens who have obtained full income from work for less than 22,000 euros from the same payer are exempt from filing the declaration. Instead, those who have received more than 14,000 euros per year from various payers will be obliged, if the sum of the amounts from the second and other payers, in order of amount, exceeds the figure of 1,500 euros per year.

How to file the declaration?

Once you have the obligation or have decided to file it because it compensates, a taxpayer has three options at their disposal: online filing, by phone call or in person.

Online: Renta Web

Renta Web is the main way to present the Income statement. To access Renta Web, select "Draft / declaration processing service" on the Renta website. Next, the taxpayer will have to identify himself using the reference number, the PIN code or the electronic certificate.

To obtain the reference number, taxpayers must enter their NIF, the expiration date of the DNI or the support number of their Foreign Identity Number (NIE) on the Treasury website. In addition, they must provide the amount of box 505 of the income tax declaration for 2018. If it was not done, you must put a bank account number (IBAN) of which the taxpayer is the owner.

Once identified, the user accesses the fiscal data held by the Treasury: payroll, mortgages, current accounts ... However, you must review and complete this data; Even if provided by the Treasury, errors or omissions are the responsibility of the taxpayer.

Special attention should be paid to: Information on the properties and their cadastral references, union dues, personal and family data (if you are entitled to the maternity deduction, to family deductions for disabled descendant / ancestor, large or single-parent family with 2 children), pension plans (include contributions), the deduction for investment in a habitual residence, the deduction for rent and regional deductions.

If everything is in order, the user generates the declaration in Renta Web. After pressing on filing a declaration, if the taxpayer returns, he must indicate the bank account in which he wants the money to be deposited. In the event that you go out to pay, by default you select the option to direct the payment and divide it into two installments.

Online: Tax Agency Application

Taxpayers have the option to file the Income Tax return from their mobile phone thanks to the Tax Agency application. Although it provides the option of "presenting the declaration with a single click", it does not allow modifying the data.

To use the Tax Agency application on your smartphone, you must identify yourself, just as when accessing Renta Web. Once inside, it is possible to consult the tax data, present the Income statement, receive notifications (status of the declaration, for example) or obtain the Reno reference number.

Phone call

Another alternative is to file the declaration by telephone thanks to the Treasury's “We call you” plan. It is possible from May 7. In order for the Tax Agency to call you to file your return, you must make an appointment as of May 5 online or on the phone 901 22 33 44 or 91 553 00 71.

By the time the Treasury calls, the taxpayer must have available the reference number of the owner of the declaration, the DNI of all the people that appear in the declaration, the IBAN of the bank account and the cadastral references of all the properties they own or in those who live for rent.

Face-to-face

To carry out the procedures in person at the Tax Agency offices you have to wait until May 13 by appointment, which can be requested from May 5.

How to identify yourself using Cl @ ve Pin

Another way to access online procedures is through the so-called Cl @ ve Pin. If you are registered with Cl @ ve, it is easier to do online procedures with the public administration, either with the Treasury or other organizations such as the cadastre, Social Security and the other Ministries. The advantage of this system is that you don't need specific equipment on the computer to use it, and it allows you to do more complex procedures.

To use this method, you must click on the option "with Cl @ ve Pin" and enter the number and letter of the DNI or NIE in the browser. Three alternatives will be shown to obtain a password to the selected procedure.

If you are not yet registered in Cl @ ve:

In the event that the taxpayer is not yet registered with Cl @ ve, the Treasury informs of the option to register. There are three ways to register with Cl @ ve. Online with an electronic certificate (electronic DNI), online without an electronic certificate or in person. To register by electronic certificate or electronic ID, special equipment is required on the computer. In the registration without electronic certificates, you must fill in the data and wait for a letter with the Secure Verification Code to arrive at the address to enter the option to register in Cl @ ve without certificates. There is also the possibility of registering in person at Cl @ ve at the AEAT, Social Security or citizen service offices. In this official web page the steps to follow to register in this system for the first time in any of the ways are collected in a simple way.

Access through the Cl @ ve Pin mobile application:

Through the smartphone application Cl @ ve Pin, available on iOS and Android, you can obtain the access credential, always being registered in the system. Once the app is installed, it will ask for your DNI or NIE. The phone will be linked to the user when entering a code received by SMS. Once this is done, the taxpayer can request the codes and the PIN (two series of four and three digits) necessary to operate with the Treasury. If the mobile has a fingerprint identification, it will only be necessary to enter the fingerprint each time a Pin key is requested.

Access through the browser with Cl @ ve:

In this option, it is not necessary to install any application on your phone. Simply enter the data on the website of the Tax Agency. The password will reach a mobile phone in the form of SMS, with which it will operate on the Treasury page. It is also necessary to be registered in the Cl @ ve system to use this alternative.
