Whether shopping assistants, care phones or room rentals to seniors: Within a few days, numerous help offers were set up in Icking.

Icking - In these difficult times there are also bright spots that give you hope. One example is the strong cohesion in Icking. Within a few days, several aid projects were launched in the community. An overview:

Shopping assistant

On Friday two weeks ago, Icking's outgoing mayor Margit Menrad launched an appeal to look for volunteer shop assistants. By Wednesday, 70 Ickingers had already registered. "I'm excited. That is a great sign of the cohesion in our town, ”says the town hall boss. She would not have expected such a large response within such a short time. Menrad: "I can only thank all Ickingeners warmly for this."

According to Stefanie Härtig, City Hall employee, the range of shopping assistants is “aimed at everyone who needs support” and is free of charge. A list of all helpers, including telephone numbers, is on the community's website. Interested parties can contact them directly or contact Stefanie Härtig, phone 0 81 78/92 00 12.

Care phone

The care telephone, supervised by Claudia Roederstein (UBI), offers an open ear for Ickinger's problems. Whether you are worried about fears, do not know what to do in a situation, or just need someone to talk to: "The care telephone is there for people in all emergencies," emphasizes Roederstein.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. Roederstein: "We would like to send a signal to our citizens: You are not alone, no matter what happens." The number of the care phone is 01 52/21 05 44 91. You can also contact IckingHilfe @ gmail.com by email possible.

Bed and breakfast

The offer "Care for Seniors" is still in its infancy. The idea: The Landhotel Klostermaier offers Ickingen, who cannot take care of themselves at home, a room. The catering there currently consists of breakfast in the room, "but we are currently considering and organizing whether a full board would not be possible," said the senior citizen's representative for the community, Bettina Schauer.

The nursing service Icking has agreed to support the project with a 24-hour service if necessary. "This is a first announcement. Now we have to see if there is any need at all, ”says Schauer. Interested parties can contact her on 01 78/5 38 86 11.

Errands

The Ickinger Initiative is also committed: it offers a free service for the provision of food, drugstore items and medication. "The offer is not only aimed at older citizens, but also at the sick, otherwise needy and mothers who can hardly get out of the house because of the children," explains Vigdis Nipperdey. Bärbel Müller coordinates the project. It can be reached on phone numbers 0 81 78/95 98 902 and 01 77/7 95 58 54.

SPD initiative

With the "Solidarity Neighborhood Aid", the Ickinger SPD has also launched an offer of help. "There are a lot of things in our place, but so far those in need of help have to report on their own initiative," says local chairman Dr. Beatrice Wagner. However, it was not easy for many of them to approach strangers.

Wagner therefore appeals to Ickinger: “Go through the surrounding five houses in your mind. Think about it: Does a person in need or someone living alone live there? If so, just give us a call. “These people in particular are often lacking the opportunity to talk to someone. "Ask your neighbors how he is, whether he needs something, whether you can help him."

With its action, the SPD wants to convey to people that there is a neighbor who is there for me. Once a contact is made, it is important to report reliably and regularly. For mutual protection, personal meetings should be avoided as much as possible. Wagner is certain: "If everyone joins in, there will be no one who flies out of the aid network."

Neighborhood help

A neighborhood aid that has been tried and tested for 30 years is Ickingen. Whether support with shopping, escorting for walks or trips to the doctor: five volunteers support needy fellow citizens as well as possible - this also applies in times of the corona pandemic. "Everything continues to run normally for us, but with certain restrictions," explains Ingrid Vogel.

Usually, the helpers mainly offer driving services for people who are not mobile. "That is now a thing of the past because people stay at home." The Ickingen women do all the more shopping for that. "Of course, we will continue to carry out urgent trips," emphasizes Vogel. If you need support from the Ickingen neighborhood aid, please contact Vogel on 0 81 78/57 47.

But it's not just the Ickingen people who are busy: The Wolfratshausen network "Together - For Each Other" helps people who are no longer able to cope with everyday life because of the corona pandemic. And a group around Ines Lobenstein diligently sews breathing masks at home. The 16 women have already made a good 200 pieces.
