What will be retained, if it is true that the soul of peoples is revealed in times of crisis, from the way in which the West has crossed the epidemic of Covid-19? Difficult not to ask the question after reading the survey (*) carried out in nine countries by the YouGov institute at the request of the Lena group, which brings together seven European daily newspapers including Le Figaro . This snapshot, the fruit of interviews conducted between March 24 and 30, reveals contrasting reactions from one society to another. The French sample there seems particularly worried, and more inclined than those of neighboring countries to demand draconian measures to block the circulation of the virus.

When asked about the foreseeable consequences of the epidemic, 71% of French people say they fear the death of a relative, friend or acquaintance compared to 67% of Spaniards and 48% of Italians (while the Covid-19 has so far hit their country very heavily), or 34% of the Germans (who have managed to limit the number of deaths).
