Hamburg / Schwerin / Wiesbaden (dpa) - Other federal states have imposed fines for violations of the conditions in the corona crisis. The state governments of Hamburg, Hesse and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania announced corresponding regulations on Thursday.
The Hamburg Senate decided on a catalog of fines, according to which fines of up to 25,000 euros are possible for repeated violations, as Interior Senator Andy Grote (SPD) said. The new regulation is due to come into force on Friday. According to Grote, 150 euros are due if the minimum distance of 1.5 meters is not observed in public or when entering playgrounds. Unauthorized shop openings are punished with 2500 euros.
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the amount of the fines reaches up to 5000 euros, as Interior Minister Lorenz Caffier (CDU) said after a cabinet meeting in Schwerin. If you do not keep the minimum distance to other people, you have to expect 150 euros there. In Hesse, uniform fines will also apply nationwide from Friday. Depending on the seriousness of the violation, payments from 200 to 5000 euros are threatened, as Social Minister Kai Klose (Greens) and Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) announced in Wiesbaden.
Several other federal states had already issued catalogs of fines for violations of restrictions imposed in the fight against the corona virus - such as North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria.
