The question of the elections was at the heart of discussions on Thursday between representatives of the opposition and the majority while the Head of State received the President of the Senate and the President of the National Assembly for lunch. Among senators, we are not really surprised by this question of the postponement, even if we recall that everything is provided for in the law on the state of health emergency passed in March. As underlined by the president of the centrist senators, Hervé Marseille: "The procedure is clearly written in this text: the Scientific Council must give an opinion on May 23 on the possible holding of elections in June and the government will rule on this opinion. Except that today, 99% of political actors think that it is impossible to envisage an election in June. ”
