Berlin (dpa) - The satisfaction of the Germans with the federal government is according to ARD "Germany trend" as high as never in this parliamentary term. According to the survey, 63 percent of those questioned are satisfied or very satisfied with the work of the coalition.

That is 28 percentage points more than in the previous month. 36 percent said they were less or not at all satisfied with the cabinet (March: 65 percent; minus 29 percentage points). Satisfaction with the federal government's crisis management in the corona crisis is also high at 72 percent.

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) has the highest satisfaction rating with her work in this legislative period. Over 60 percent of those questioned are satisfied or very satisfied with it.

Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) has a satisfaction rating of 60 percent. 63 percent of those surveyed are satisfied or very satisfied with the work of Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) - an increase of 17 points compared to the previous month.

The Union is also gaining favor with voters in the crisis and is now 34 percent (plus 7 points compared to the previous month) if the Bundestag election were next Sunday. The CDU and CSU last achieved this value in March 2018.

The Greens would vote 22 percent (minus 1). The SPD would remain unchanged at 16 percent. The AfD landed at 10 percent (minus 2). The left would come to 7 percent (minus 2), the FDP to 5 percent (minus 1).
