(ANSA) - GENOA, APRIL 3 - Among the many people sanctioned for failing to comply with the ministerial decree to counter the Coronavirus there is also Federico Bertorello, municipal councilor of the League in Genoa with delegation for Legal Affairs. Bertorello was stopped on Sunday morning by a patrol of the vigilance and walked with the dog in Corso Italia, the Lungomarecittadino, a favorite place for runners.
"I was informed of the presence of numerous people to run - explained the councilor - and I went to check. I went out with the dog and I went to buy the bread and so instead of going home I went to check.
I told the police that I was a councilor and that my duties also include checking a report.
I will pay the fine, but I was not there to run or walk. I live in the area and as a councilor if I receive reports from citizens it seems to me that it falls within my role to verify. "The penalty was 280 euros.
