A serious accident happened on the A8 around 12.35 p.m. A car came off the road between Holzkirchen and Weyarn towards Salzburg and overturned.

Update 5:03 pm: A serious accident happened on the A 8 on Friday. According to the police, a 25-year-old from Munich drove with his VW Arteon towards Salzburg at around 12.30 p.m. Shortly after the Holzkirchen junction, he started skidding on the left lane. He lost control, pulled right over the three lanes of the freeway and hard shoulder. Behind it he broke through a game protection fence , drove into a field and overturned several times. Finally the car stayed in the field.
The driver was able to save himself from the completely deformed vehicle. A rescue helicopter took him to hospital with moderate injuries. He suffered multiple fractures and whiplash. The driver's 47-year-old mother , who was sitting in the passenger seat, was less fortunate. She was thrown out of the car and died of her injuries on the spot. According to the current investigation, the woman was strapped. However, her seat belt tore in the pelvic area.

The officials estimate the property damage to the car at around 35,000 euros. They called in an independent expert to record the accident. To secure the scene of the accident, the fire brigades Otterfing and Holzkirchen with a total of 43 men and the Holzkirchen motorway maintenance department were on site. To record the accident, the right lane was blocked for the entire duration of the work. In the meantime, the police ordered the A 8 to be fully closed to the south for around 20 minutes. Because of the low volume of traffic, traffic was only blocked for a few kilometers during the entire operation.
During the backlog , a 50-year-old from Munich noticed three times negative. First he drove his motorcycle through the emergency lane and was therefore checked by the officials. They discovered that the man he was on a trip to Schliersee was on the way. Now he has to answer for a violation of the exit restriction, license plate misuse and driving in the emergency lane. According to the police, the other drivers behaved flawlessly.
