Australian scientists believe that an anti-parasitic drug used to treat head lice may be able to treat the emerging coronavirus within 48 hours.

According to the Australian Morning Herald newspaper, a study conducted by Monash University in Melbourne showed that a single dose of (Ivermectin) is able to stop the growth of the Corona virus.

The drug is likely to be able to treat Covid 19 disease by inhibiting the ability of host cells and scientists are seeking to determine the correct dose of the drug to ensure that it is not dangerous to humans.

"We found that a single dose of the drug was able to effectively remove all the genetic material of the virus within two days," said Dr. Kylie Wagstaff, adding that "it may take at least a month before the vaccine is widely available."

It is noteworthy that (Ivermectin) is an anti-parasite drug approved by the FDA and has been proven effective against HIV, dengue and influenza.

It is noteworthy that the number of people infected with the newly created Corona virus reached one million and 130 thousand and 114, and the number of deaths reached 60 thousand and 114 cases.
