Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Shamkhani, described the position of the United States obstructing the granting of Iran the facilities required by the International Monetary Fund as a "crime against humanity".
"The ban on health commodities is an illegal move, a violation of human rights and a vicious hostility of US President Donald Trump against the Iranian people," Shamkhani was quoted by the Iranian news agency, IRNA, as saying in a Twitter post today.
The Iranian Assistant to Economic Affairs, Mohammad Nahaundian, had recently confirmed that many European countries agreed to give Iran loans from the International Monetary Fund, while the United States stepped up its pressure in this area.
