The crisis that is currently affecting the human race does not affect the views, peoples, religions and countries. It directly or indirectly affects each and every one of us and impairs our ability to manage our daily routine. As individuals with a single destiny, our founding role in dealing with a crisis is to mobilize and assist anyone, regardless of their past, belief, or origin.

Like any other nation, the Jewish people to its Diaspora is also exposed to the deadly virus. We have witnessed countless cases where the virus hits Jewish communities. Our many years of history show the importance of unity, faith and mutual assistance between man and man in general and a Jewish son and a Jew in particular.

Our routine is full of mutual guarantees. As the body that represents the Jewish people and the mediator between the various communities in the world and the State of Israel, and vice versa, the World Zionist Organization stands as an organization in front of which is the importance of the continued relationship between the Diaspora and the State of Israel.

This is not a medical solution to the spread of the virus but to find ways to continue as far as possible the routine, Jewish life, Hebrew study, connection to Israel and Jewish-Zionist identity. These days, when the world stands still and the virus unknowingly disrupts our lives, we have the moral and historical duty to stand side by side.

Beyond that, in addition to dealing with the effects of the virus on their health and their economy, our brothers and sisters in the Jewish communities around the world are also faced with the cynical and ugly exploitation of anti-Semitic organizations that increase hatred and blame who or not? The Jews - in the spread of the Corona virus in the world.

Individuals, organizations and politicians find an opportunity to spread throughout the world, on the Internet and in the media, harsh expressions, incitement and pointing of blame towards the Jewish people. The era in which we are now living, which is sure to enter history books as one of the most critical periods for humankind, brings us back to the darkest days of history, to the dark ages preceding the pogroms, field trials and mass murder of our people.

The same expressions and the same atmosphere. It is precisely from this point that the leaders of the Jewish communities in the world can be united, to formulate operational plans for an uncompromising fight against anti-Semitism, which does not by any means take up its head even during these difficult days.

The World Zionist Organization is currently strengthening the Jewish communities in the Diaspora. It reflects the destiny of our people and will continue to stand against the anti-Semitism in all its forms.

The current uncertainty may actually lead to strengthening the mutual guarantee within our people, emphasizing Jewish and Zionist values and, of course, continuing our destiny partnership. The crisis may also help to overcome disputes within our people - such as those between parts of US Jewry and the State of Israel - if we learn to listen, talk, and come together in unity.

The nation of Israel, full of history, persecution and exile, is a strong nation. The milestones paved with Israel, the long road it has built for thousands of years, have led to unspeakable progress in civilization, and they will also pave the way for the unrelenting unity of the people these days.

"No one else will help and his brother will say strongly," the book of Isaiah says. Today, the people of Israel are stronger than ever. As we hope and unity before our eyes, we will continue to lift our heads proudly and deal with the Corona epidemic and the epidemic of hatred and anti-Semitism.
