Eberfing - An accident with a lifting platform today led to a power failure in parts of Eberfing, Polling, Huglfing and Oberhausen. According to the deputy press spokesman for the network operator "Bayernwerk", Michael Bartels, the lift of a contractor came too close to a 20-kilovolt overhead line. An earth fault was created via the device, which caused the line to be switched off at 9.30 a.m. Around 3,000 households in the four municipalities were affected.

Some had to wait until the lift was removed from the line

At 10.34 a.m., according to Bartels, most households were back online. Only around 50 affected people in the surrounding area, who are supplied via the transformer house on Brunnenweg, had to wait until noon. In this area, the power had to remain switched off until the lift was removed from the line.

According to Axel Trießl from the Weilheim police, a lifting platform was tested on the site of a scaffolding company in Sportplatzstrasse. This came so close to the overhead line that there was a flashover. However, the current was diverted into the ground through the feet of the lift, so that the 43-year-old operator of the device was not injured. As a precaution, he was brought to the accident hospital in Murnau for examination.
