Some will have been looking forward to this date: On this Tuesday, most of the recycling centers and garden waste collection points open again. However, there is still no normal operation due to the corona crisis. So what you should know now.

Fürstenfeldbruck - The most important thing should be mentioned in advance: The fact that the recycling centers in the district should reopen should not be understood as an invitation to clear out the spring in large areas. Even if many now had the time. The following also applies here in times of the corona crisis: There is a good reason. But what exactly does that mean?

Urgent disposal

The waste management company of the district (AWB) speaks of an urgent need for disposal. "For example, if you live in a small apartment and the plastic cups are already stacked up under the ceiling," explains AWB boss Barbara Steinmetz. If you don't have storage facilities such as a basement or garage, you have to take things away. It is also urgent if a move date is set and the bulky waste collects.

Waiting times

Steinmetz relies above all on the reason of the people. And she hopes that the onslaught of two weeks ago - just before the closure - will not happen. "There was hell going on." Cars stood out on the street on Friday afternoon.

Now most of them should have got used to keeping their distance, Steinmetz believes. Longer waiting times can still be expected. Her tip: Experience has shown that most of them come shortly before the recycling centers open. So maybe you shouldn't just line up.

Equalize rush

The AWB also wants to equalize the rush and has expanded its opening hours in the week before Easter. The Maisach recycling center will also open this Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The large recycling centers in Emmering, Grafrath and Schöngeising are each one hour longer during Holy Week. The Landsberied plastic collection point is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Basically, however, the following always applies: Visitors should inform themselves about the current daily opening times on the website www.awb-ffb.de before their journey.

Block handling

In order to further minimize the risk of infection and to protect visitors and staff, the large recycling centers keep block processing. A maximum of ten deliverers are allowed in at the same time - only individual visitors to the plastic collection points.

Desperate gardeners

Anyone who has carefully walked the curfew in the past few weeks has been able to observe it: everyone is busy busy gazing. The AWB also felt this. “We had a lot of calls from garden owners,” says Barbara Steinmetz. They all wanted to know where to dispose of their waste. "That is why we have also opened the garden waste collection points." The same applies here as for the plastic collection point: visitors are only allowed in a few cases.

Bring away green waste

And here too the AWB tries to equalize the onslaught during Holy Week. In Fürstenfeldbruck, the collection points on Frühlingsstraße, Senserbergstraße and Waldfriedhof also open this Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. On the same day, the garden waste collection points in Pfaffenhofen are open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., those in Adelshofen from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and those in Hattenhofen from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Green waste can also be delivered to the garden waste collection point in Kottgeisering on the sports field this Tuesday from 1 to 5 p.m. and to the collection point in Zankenhausen on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m.

Rubble

The building rubble landfill in Jesenwang can now be used by private people. In the past few weeks, this could only be used by commercial suppliers.

Closed further

Not all recycling centers will be accessible again this Tuesday due to the corona. The Egenhofener, Estinger and Oberschweinbacher still have to be patient. The reason: there is no way for employees to wash their hands there. Even plastic and pollutant vehicles are not on the road indefinitely.
