The Sea of Galilee was measured 209.10 meters this morning (Tuesday), according to the Water Authority. This is about an inch higher than yesterday. The entire Kinneret is now missing only 30 cm. The encouraging figures reflect the rainy winter we went through, but as of now - unless an unusual rain event occurs - the Degania dam is not expected to open this year.

This year's rise also improved salinity levels in the Sea of Galilee, and also resulted in a significant increase in the predominium algae (the fine algae of the Sea of Galilee) compared to a decrease in mycocystis-blue algae, which are considered to be good.
