Chloroquine: unconvincing new data

Thursday, the "results" of a new study conducted by Pr Didier Raoult were published on the website of the Marseille University Hospital Institute of Infectious Diseases.

By presenting chloroquine as a miraculous remedy without providing solid data to support his claims, Professor Didier Raoult, eminent microbiologist moreover, has placed himself in a delicate position. A total of 1061 patients were treated with a mixture of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin (an antibiotic whose combination with chloroquine is however not recommended due to an increased cardiac risk) shortly after being diagnosed positive for Covid and this for "at least" three days. No further details for the moment on the doses administered.
