On Thursday afternoon, nine fire departments from three counties were alerted to a forest fire in Kreuzholzen. Reason: a re-fire has got out of control.
Gammelsdorf– “A drought that is not entirely harmless,” said district fire councilor Manfred Danner, was the doom of a forest farmer in Kreuzholzen (Gammelsdorf municipality) on Thursday afternoon. The fire spread from the initial 25 square meters to approximately 4000 square meters, said the district fire council.
Around 80 Florian disciples from nine fire brigades rushed to the remote forest to extinguish the fire and then searched the area with a thermal imaging camera for glowing nests, such as in rootstocks. After an hour, the assignment was over. "No one was harmed," said Danner, and nobody was injured.
The fire brigades from Gammelsdorf, Hörgertshausen, Sielstetten, Moosburg, Martinszell, Obermünchen, Obersüßbach, Attenhausen and Volkenschwand were in action.
The fire department in Kirchamper recently prevented a conflagration.
