In Paris, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart remains a landmark for everyone. Consecrated exactly one hundred years ago, this high place of spiritual life in Paris, closed for coronavirus but where a prayer of continuous Eucharistic adoration takes place, 24 hours a day, since its creation, animated by lay people who 'relay it day and night, was the place chosen, Thursday April 9 at noon, by the Archbishop of Paris, Mgr Michel Aupetit, to bless the city of Paris and France in this time of crisis.

On the forecourt of Montmartre - which means, since the third century, the “mount of martyrs” - dominating, at 130 meters above sea level throughout the Parisian agglomeration, he was surrounded by his team of auxiliary bishops and Benedictines of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre, who provided the songs. The ceremony, of great spirituality, was however marked by the gravity of the moment since most of the celebrants wore protective masks.
