Los Angeles - Internationally famous US actor Brian Dennehy is dead. His daughter confirmed her father's demise to the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday evening. 

According to this, Brian Dennehy died of a natural death on Wednesday night (local time) in Connecticut . Accordingly, the actor did not die from the corona virus, which is spreading further and further in the USA. Dennehy turned 81.

"Rambo" star Brian Dennehy is dead

In the 1970s and 1980s, the actor played in successful Hollywood series worldwide. These include  “Kojak”, “Dallas” and the “Denver Clan” . Dennehy became particularly famous for his role as Sheriff Will Teasle in the action film "Rambo" from 1982. He played alongside Sylvester Stallone . The role was also his big breakthrough.

As a character actor, he also appeared in films such as "Gorky Park", "Silverado", "Prosecutors are not kissed" and "For lack of evidence". Dennehy was also often on the theater stage. The two-time Tony award winner starred in Broadway productions such as "Death of a traveling salesman" and "A long day's journey into the night".

Brian Dennehy dies: he leaves five children

With increasing age, there were no offers for major leading roles. Dennehy switched over and shone in several supporting roles. So he was still part of many internationally known and successful productions. Among other things, he stood in front of the camera for  "Romeo and Juliet" alongside Leonardo DiCaprio . In addition, he spoke a role in the Pixar cartoon success "Ratatouille".

Brian Dennehy was married twice. In 1959 he married Judith Scheff with whom he subsequently had three children. The couple divorced in 1974. For the second time, he entered into a marriage in 1988 with Jennifer Arnott. Brian Dennehy has five children. 

Just a few days ago, an aspiring musician died at the age of 25.
