After comments on the coronavirus, Culcha Candela received a real shit storm on the net. Several posts on Twitter sparked criticism

  • To Culcha Candela a large wave of criticism currently occurs.
  • After the band tweeted about the corona virus, a  shit storm developed .
  • Your actual message quickly became a minor matter.

Berlin - The coronavirus pandemic affects people around the world - and does not stop at celebrities *. Artists are particularly affected by the current crisis situation

Theater actors, opera singers, comedians, DJs or singers - all of these artists are currently facing difficult times . Since almost all events have been canceled, for example in Munich *, she is currently unable to pursue the core business of her work - and that is the performance on stage and in front of an audience.

The band Culcha Candela is also affected by these restrictions . The Berlin music group is planning a big tour in October , as it explains on Instagram *. This has not yet been officially canceled, but in view of the current developments, it seems almost utopian

Sometimes against the background, Culcha Candela was carried away on Twitter to comments that were not well received by everyone - on the contrary, the band triggered a real shit storm on social media. What happened?

Corona crisis: Culcha Candela goes on the offensive on Twitter

It all started with a contribution by the Swiss cabaret artist Hazel Brugger , who is known for the “Today Show” on ZDF. With regard to the current exit considerations, Brugger with a wink made the comparison to condoms.

no, have it done by 2025 if it works! as a precaution, for all upcoming pandemics! never change a runing system. lol. every time we are surprised that people like you who are hard hit by the ban on appearing (like us) write something like this. ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

Culcha Band then decided that the professional comedian would not take these times, which are unpleasant for the art industry, seriously. We are always surprised that artists like Hazel Brugger, "who are hard hit by the ban on performing (like us) write something like this ."

Accordingly, the band ironically proposed to continue the well-functioning lockdown for all upcoming pandemics until 2025 . A broader discussion then developed on Twitter, in which the band and comedian already had to deal with criticism. Another answer from Culcha Candelas, in which the group referred to the mortality rate, then triggered a real shitstorm - as on Sunday with Jens Lehmann.

the mortality rate is below 1%. for us as a band it is almost worth the infection so that the madness is over and we can live normally again. crossing the street is more dangerous. ‍♂️

Culcha Candela: Band gets their fat off after Corona tweet - "border-debilitant nonsense"

The volume of the post is largely interpreted negatively. One user wrote, for example: "Culcha Candela would accept a 1% mortality rate in Germany (= 800,000 people) so that their business can finally continue ", another said: "Culcha Candela is about sales, ashes, not humanity , possibly your own fans. It's good that you clarified that again. ”Another appalled user simply spoke of  “ border-wise nonsense ” .

During the course of Monday the band got a lot of contraindications. This did not change the fact that Culcha Candela tried to make the actual position clear in a detailed statement.

Among other things, it says: “In short, one more clarification : You know very well (we hope) that we don't care about human lives. On the contrary. We just wanted to point out that an industry with more than 300,000 livelihoods is fucked up and half of the 1200 festivals, clubs, bars and restaurants will be gone next year. ”

This valid view of the band now seems to have fallen behind after the initial tweets.
