Within the police, the question of wearing a mask is very similar to the story of Captain Haddock's plaster. For weeks, the police unions have been relaying petitions from the field, urging the Administration to grant them the right to a more systematic port. For the time being, in accordance with government guidelines which had to manage the shortage, stocks have been reserved as a priority for health services.
And Beauvau's directives are clear: as stipulated in a note from the Directorate General of the National Police dated March 13, " the stocks available being limited ", use must be " strictly controlled " and limited to proven contacts with infected people. Since then, 1.7 million FFP1 surgical models have been distributed. But, on the ground, deliveries seem sparse, with only one protection kit per patrol car. Or, in theory, a disposable mask to be shared by crew.
