The doctors in the Top 14 have submitted their report. And the conclusions go against the will of the club presidents to resume the championship, in the form of a final phase, at the end of August. According to RMC Sport, the hypothesis, already uncertain, of a recovery in mid-June, is definitively rejected for health reasons. But “the privileged scenario” of a return to the field in mid-August is also very hypothetical. According to the medical report, we will have to wait a little more, maybe even until January 2021. Five steps are necessary: deconfinement, tests, recovery in small groups, collective recovery with contacts and, finally, the competition. Everything will depend, in fact, on the possibility, or not, of being able to regularly test the players, the staff, but also their relatives. The answer will therefore come from the Ministry of Sports when it presents, at the end of the month, the confinement exit plan for the sports world. The Presidents of the Top 14 also have another concern. If the ministry announced the holding of matches behind closed doors for a long period, this situation would lose money to the clubs, the organization costs becoming higher than the almost non-existent revenues. Therefore, the supporters of a final cancellation of the season would, according toRMC Sport , more and more numerous, Clermont and Stade Toulousain militant, among others, for this issue.
