The Danish Bible Society has omitted dozens of references to Israel from the translation of the Bible and the New Testament.

The company claims that this was done to avoid confusion between biblical Israel and the modern state of Israel.

The omissions were found in a project titled "Bible 2020", published earlier this year under the supervision of the company, the news site 24NYT reported on Sunday. This is the first translation of the Bible into Danish language in 20 years.

Jan Frost, an avid bible of the Bible and a supporter of Israel from Denmark, drew the media's attention to omissions in posts he posted on social networks. Jews, while "the Land of Israel" became the "Land of the Jews."

Elsewhere, references to Israel have been translated as a reference to all of humanity.

The song of the Psalms in the book of Psalms, a popular Sabbath hymn among Jews, was originally written "Here is not a vengeance and the watchman of Israel will not sleep." In the new translation, the word Israel was replaced by the word "guard us."

The representative of the Danish Bible Society told Frost that the decision was made to avoid confusion between the Land of Israel and the State of Israel. At the same time, oil of other countries did not differ from the same era that still exists today, such as Egypt.

"The old theological expression of this is 'alternative theology', in which Israel is replaced with the church," Frost wrote on Facebook on Monday.
