Update of April 20, 11:23:  Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) spoke as part of a government statement in the Bavarian state parliament on Monday about the easing in the context of the Corona crisis in Bavaria. Bavaria is now introducing a mask requirement in all shops and in public transport.

From next week on, mouth-nose protection, everyday masks or even scarves should be compulsory there: “In general, this is also called a compulsory mask.” This will apply to all public transport and to all shops that are already open. This also includes supermarkets.

Despite the Corona crisis , there will be more opportunities for demonstrations in Bavaria in the future . He asked the interior minister to make a proposal this week that could lay down a structure for the next few weeks, said the CSU chief. Permission for meetings of up to 20 people is conceivable. It is important to get reliable results quickly, since fundamental rights also apply in the Corona crisis .

Söder also indicated a loosening at church services. From May 3, meetings of religious communities under strict conditions are conceivable, he said. The current ban must not remain permanent. The easing should apply to all faith communities. "We also need a solution for all of Ramadan."

Gastronomy and the hotel industry must remain closed, says Söder. This is difficult for the industry. The restaurant was a hub for viruses, "says Söder and gives the example of apres-ski or strong beer festivals on. Söder hopes for relief at Pentecost, but this is only a hope. There is currently no timetable. "But we help the catering trade," said the Prime Minister. The value added tax should be reduced there to seven percent.

Only from next week will there be car, bicycle and book retailers. This would open almost 80 percent of the trade .

Coronavirus in Bavaria: This means relaxation in everyday life - and that remains forbidden

Can a couple meet up again for a coffee gossip with a friend?

No. The relaxation is primarily intended for single people so that they can meet someone. It applies to sports and exercise in the fresh air - this also includes walks .

Can I play skat with a third man next to my spouse?

No, such meetings are limited to a total of two people. So you can only meet one person alone - the skat or even the sheep's head is not in it. It is possible to meet another person the next day. “But the goal should always be to avoid infection as much as possible. Reason and consideration for other people therefore make it necessary to meet as few different contact persons as possible outside of your own household, ”said the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

What about visits to the nursing home?

The relaxation does not change the ban on visiting old people's homes and care facilities. “With this ban on visits, we want to ensure the greatest possible protection and prevent infections from being carried into old people's homes and nursing homes,” said the Ministry of Health . Because for their residents, the risk of a severe, even fatal course of the disease is high. On the other hand, visiting old and sick people who are not in nursing or old people's homes and need support is already a good reason to leave their own home.

Is it necessary to keep a distance of 1.50 meters when walking with the third person?

Yes. If the safety distance is maintained, you can also sit on a park bench with this person.

Markus Söder will deliver a government statement on Monday (April 20). The easing of anti-corona measures in Bavaria, which will apply from today, will also be an issue.

Overview of corona rules in Bavaria: what is now allowed again - and what remains prohibited

Are tutoring or piano lessons possible again?

The new easing, which will apply from April 20, only affects sports and exercise in the fresh air. However, commercial tutoring is already allowed if it is given to the students at home, provided the distance rules are observed. The tutors have a business license and therefore a good reason to leave the house for professional work and to offer their services to students at home. Since students, including underage piano students, have no professional activity, they have no good reason to leave the house and take lessons with the tutors at home.

Can patients go to speech therapists or physiotherapists again?

Medical pedicure, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy practices may be operated in a restricted manner to treat patients when medically urgent. "In particular, there is an urgent medical need for diagnostic or therapeutic measures that serve to avert life-threatening dangers to physical or mental integrity or the consequences of illness, to alleviate pain or to maintain elementary life functions, and do not allow a delay," said the ministry. The treating doctor makes the decision.

And what about the personal trainer for fitness?

Personal training is also only possible if a doctor deems it necessary.
