Four people were arrested overnight Monday to Tuesday after scuffles in two districts of Strasbourg. The incidents occurred in the neighboring districts of Meinau and Port du Rhin, respectively south and east of the Alsatian capital.

At the Meinau, a police station was the target of Molotov cocktails while at Port du Rhin, garbage cans and a car were set on fire. According to France Bleu Alsace, a police car was also targeted by Meinau-style mortar fire.
Four people were arrested during these scuffles which left no one injured, according to the police source.
" Until now, it was rather calm " in Strasbourg but " we are starting to feel mounting tension in the districts ", declared to France Bleu Alsace Robert Herrmann, president of the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg and assistant to the mayor security of the Alsatian capital.

These incidents, which occurred in full confinement linked to the coronavirus, prompted many comments on social networks, several people making in particular the link with the tensions in recent days between police and residents of Villeneuve-la-Garenne (Hauts- de-Seine), after the biker accident on Saturday involving the police and whose circumstances remain unclear.
