The actor and theater man Claude Evrard, who was in the 70s the accomplice on stage of Philippe Avron, died Monday at the age of 86, announced his family in the Carnet Thursday of the daily Le Monde. He died in Clamart, in the Paris region, from coronavirus, his family told AFP.

Pupil of Jacques Lecoq, master of physical theater, Claude Evrard was the accomplice of Philippe Avron, with whom he wrote many humorous sketches and turned in tandem (“Avron and Evrard”) successfully in the years 1970-1975, in the cabarets on the left bank, then at Bobino, at the Olympia and on television. The two men began their careers with Jean Vilar and operated in tandem until 1975, before taking separate paths.
The opportunity for Claude Evrard (born Claude Thébaud) to play under the direction of Peter Brook in "La cerisaie" by Tchekhov in the early 80s or Maurice Bénichou for a "Dom Juan" alongside Niels Arestrup.
His career has also been punctuated by small roles in cinema, in “Le Distrait” by Pierre Richard (1970) or more recently in “Ce qui nous bindes” by Cédric Klapisch (2017).
