British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will return to the top of the government early next week after his Corona disease.
London (AP) - According to a media report, Boris Johnson takes over again at a critical time, as his cabinet expects him to give fresh impetus to the gradual end of the nationwide standstill. The "Daily Telegraph" reports.
There was initially no official confirmation. The British government has recently come under increasing criticism for handling the pandemic.
The 55-year-old premier had to be treated in the intensive care unit of a London clinic for his lung disease Covid-19. For a few days now he has been recovering at the Checkers country estate near the capital.
Johnson had been partially represented by Secretary of State Dominic Raab. He recently conducted part of his government work over the phone from Checkers, reports the PA agency. Among other things, he spoke on the phone with the Queen and US President Donald Trump.
