Bad Tölz– There are no fewer than 16 final classes this year at the State Technical and Vocational School in Bad Tölz. After a six-week break, classes start again on Monday. In an interview with courier editor Silke Scheder, the senior study director explains how the FOS / BOS wants to comply with the distance regulations for so many students and why school director Andreas Stefan still has an important appointment at the district office at the weekend.

Mr. Stefan, is there enough space in the school to teach all 16 final classes?

Yes, it just works. We made 30 small groups out of the 16 final classes, which are taught in 30 classrooms.

How many students are you expecting back on Monday?

We have a total of 331 high school students. At the same time, there are only around 230 to 250 young people present at the school so that the distance regulations can be observed. So not every student has lessons every day.

Are there enough teachers?

Yes! We have rearranged a little: teachers who belong to the risk group take over the online lessons, the others are in the classroom. Fortunately, we don't have many risk cases.

Do the students have to wear a mask?

If you want to wear a mask, you can do so on a voluntary basis. So far there is no obligation to wear a mask. We are all the more grateful to the district office: it makes masks available to all students and teachers, although it shouldn't. At the weekend, a colleague and I collect mouth and nose protection: we get two masks for each teacher, one for each student.

The next classes will follow gradually from May 11th. Are there enough classrooms left?

I can't say anything about that because there are no instructions from the Ministry of Education. Now let's see that everything goes well on Monday, then we'll see.
