A bitter loss for the Eittingen-based company Wurzer Umwelt is the death of its long-time manager and authorized officer Hans Kenst. "We will miss him very much as a person and as an employee," says Junior Director Wolfgang Wurzer. Wurzer finds only words of praise for the 69-year-old deceased. Kenst had worked in Eitting until three weeks ago.

Eitting - “Work was his life. He has always been committed as if it were his own company, and we owe a large part of our success to him, ”said the 48-year-old. To retire? That was out of the question for Kenst. "You can stay with us as long as you want," Wolfgang Wurzer and senior manager Franz Wurzer always said to their manager. It has been 24 years.

With all the progress of technology - for Kenst, constant values also counted. “You could rely on his word. And his handshake counted, ”said Wolfgang Wurzer about the family man from Munich-Allach, who was always open to his employees. Whether an advance was needed, there was an unsatisfactory work situation or another problem arose: you could talk to him.

And he was never too good to tackle it himself. Even if it was banal like setting up chairs at the summer party. He also enjoyed the family cohesion of "his" company. So he was one of the last guests at the Christmas party and silently watched the dismantling work. Wolfgang Wurzer was only now aware of this situation. "It was probably goodbye because he knew it was his last celebration," he guesses. The cancer had broken out again at Kenst. He knew there was no cure. Whining was foreign to him. "He didn't show anything," says Wurzer, who also recently spoke to Kenst on the phone almost every day. The manager was like a friend to him. “I've worked with him for so long and I owe a lot of it to him. His wealth of experience was huge. It leaves a big gap, ”says Wurzer.

When Kenst started at Wurzer in 1996, there were around 45 employees, now there are 430. And that's a large part of Kenst's earnings. He would have turned 70 on July 30. His wife Annemarie, his daughter and his grandchild also mourn him.
