The US emergency agency seizes shipments of medical masks

After carrying out piracy of shipments of medical masks to its allies in Europe, the US administration and its corona-response devices are facing new charges of seizing 400,000 "N95" protective masks for distribution within the United States.

The new accusations were local this time. A medical equipment distribution company in Delaware, USA, according to the USA Today newspaper, reported that the Federal Emergency Management Agency confiscated, while this month, it confiscated two shipments of 400,000 protective medical mask type N95. The company imported them for distribution locally to American consumers and medical and government facilities within American territory.

The owner of the company, George Jiangorkaru, confirmed that the "VMA" agency confiscated the two shipments without paying their price, noting that the imported masks were intended for nursing institutions in Delaware and another in Michigan, in addition to other consumers, including workers in American cargo ships.

American hospitals suffer from a severe shortage of protective masks and other medical equipment to counter the Corona virus, while consumers ’demand for such masks increases after the outbreak of the disease in a dangerous way in the United States. Others, among the first failure to provide the necessary equipment to contain the virus, whether from tests for a crisis to detect the disease or protective masks for doctors and nurses and respirators for patients.

This is not the first time that the Trump administration has been accused of piracy shipments of masks and medical equipment, as it recently launched a war on protective masks after seizing a shipment of 200,000 masks destined for Germany and another similar shipment to France.

The Trump administration's muzzle war was not confined to countries, but also between the American states and the federal government, as the agency “VMA” confiscated three million masks in New York port earlier this month that were purchased by Massachusetts.
