The police officers put the operation in a rather humorous manner in connection with the current corona situation . The Twitter users obviously like it, because the post received at least more than 9,000 likes by Sunday morning.

And the beaver greets every day ...

Update 12:21: The Covid-19 death rate is in Berlin officially significantly below the national average . But research by rbb has now yielded completely different numbers. The Berlin Senate reported 62 Corona deaths on Tuesday evening, and thus only half as many Covid 19 deaths per inhabitant than the national average. But these statistics are lagging behind . According to the rbb, this can be deduced from internal death statistics from the Berlin nursing homes and hospitals.

Corona in Berlin: Delays in reporting over the Easter holidays led to distorted statistics

The reason: There would have been delays in reporting over the Easter holidays . "Today, numerous reports of (...) deaths in the last few days have been reported (...) Since the administrations are not present at the weekend in many facilities, the reports were sent one to two days late ," apparently said in a Senate report on Tuesday evening about the situation in Berlin nursing homes.

However, this is a major problem when there is a discussion about possible relaxation of the corona restrictions . Wolfgang Albers (left), Chairman of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives, confirmed this at the request of rbb : "If we really want to record the mortality rate of the disease, we need transparent figures," he said.

Because over the Easter holidays , the actual number of deaths increased enormously . According to reports, there have been 45 deaths in Berlin hospitals and nursing homes since Maundy Thursday . The spokesman for the Brandenburg Minister of Health Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) explained the situation: "The treating doctors have one day to report the deceased to the health authorities, the health authorities another day to forward the report to the state offices for health - and that State offices then again one day to report the numbers to the Robert Koch Institute. "

Corona in Berlin: Health administration admits delays in reporting to the authorities

The fact that only 62 of the total of 78 Covid-19 deaths were reported was due to the fact that "only the cases of Berliners are counted". Brandenburgers were not included in this statistic. However, the press office of the Berlin health administration later admitted that reports from the health authorities could also lead to delays in reporting and changes . However, further questions regarding the exact deaths could not be answered due to data protection reasons.

Update from April 16, 10:39 am: After Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the day before that schools should resume teaching from May 4 , it is now clear when the Abitur exams will start in Berlin

With that, Berlin starts sooner than recommended by the federal government under Merkel.

As far as elementary schools are concerned, Scheeres adheres to the nationwide guidelines. There, the sixth class will start on May 4 , said the Education Senator. She also assured that schools are taking steps to contain the pandemic . For example, the students' tables would have to be 1.50 meters apart and there would also have to be enough soap available for regular hand washing. “And it is important that the schools are cleaned very well. The school authorities will also ensure this, ”Scheeres emphasized.

Corona virus in Berlin: From May 4, the inner city is expected to be full again

Update 10:58 p.m .: In the inner city of Berlin it will soon be livelier again. Because the federal government and the federal states decided on Wednesday to ease the measures against the coronavirus pandemic. From May 4, schools should gradually resume teaching - starting with the final classes.

In order to get the economy going again, shops with up to 800 square meters of retail space should be allowed to open again on Monday, subject to conditions . This also applies - regardless of the sales area - to car, bicycle and book dealers. The stores are to develop concepts on how to control access, comply with hygiene requirements and avoid queues. Merkel said after the conference with the prime ministers that there should be a "metered" opening of public traffic in the city centers.

Why the limit is 800 square meters remained open. Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) made it clear that he personally thought such a sales area was too much, Bavaria would check this - so there could be a patchwork here.

Corona in Berlin: Gradual school start planned - date has already been fixed

Update from April 15, 5.25 p.m .:  As the German Press Agency learned, the federal and state governments agreed on Wednesday that school operations in Germany on May 4, starting with the final classes, the classes that will take exams in the coming year and the top elementary school classes should be resumed. Upcoming exams are possible beforehand.

In a draft resolution for the switching of Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) with the Prime Ministers, the Minister of Culture Ministers of the Länder (KMK) was to present a concept by April 29, “How teaching under special hygiene and protective measures, especially taking into account the distance requirement due to reduced learning group sizes, can be taken up again overall. ”

In addition to the lessons, the breaks and school bus operations should also be taken into account. "Every school needs a hygiene plan." The school authorities are called upon to create the hygienic conditions on site and to ensure them permanently.

Update of April 15, 3:25 p.m .: According to information from the picture , the heads of state chancellors had agreed on some key points before the federal-state discussions on the corona easing *. Accordingly, during the negotiations, Berlin demands, among other things, that the Abitur exams be held after Easter and that the exit restrictions be relaxed from the beginning of May.

The call for loosening and school openings is loud. An ARD commentator finds clear words about this. After "hardest possible" now "as quickly as possible"? Not like that!

But the culture ministers of the federal states already agreed on a nationwide uniform regulation on March 25: The Abi exams are to take place. In Baden-Württemberg, the school should start gradually again on May 4th. The opposition criticizes the decision.
