A number of Lebanese regions witnessed protests and road blockages in Beirut, Tripoli, and Akkar in protest at the deteriorating living conditions, banking policy and the high prices.
The Lebanese National News Agency said that clashes erupted between elements of the army and a number of demonstrators after they burned tires and tried to cut roads in Tripoli, which led to the fall of the wounded.
The protesters in Jounieh and Akkar also closed a number of roads with burning tires, to interfere with the Lebanese security forces, and restore the situation to normal, while the shops in Danniyeh, North Lebanon, closed their doors to customers due to the economic conditions.
To that, protesters in Sidon and Nabatieh carried out protest vigils to reject the price hike, carrying banners denouncing the deteriorating economic and living conditions and calling for the recovery of the looted public money amid security measures taken by units of the Lebanese army and internal security forces.
A number of protesters in the Bekaa also cut the international road Chtoura factory at the Marj Bar Elias junction and the international road in the middle of the town of Al Ain in Hermel in the northern Bekaa with stones and tires burning for some time to protest against the high prices of consumer goods, while a force of the Lebanese army reopened it.
