Prime Minister Netanyahu's Special Column • The Fallen in Israel Systems Headed to Protect Our Shared Home • They Want All of us to continue to live in security and health

My brothers and sisters to the bereaved family, in our 72 years of independence we have known different memory days. We knew the memory of times in wars and battles, in times of operations and raids, in times of terrorist attacks, and even in peaceful times when readiness and alertness continued - because it never leaves us.

This year we are remembering our sons and daughters of heroes of glory, in the midst of the fight against the Corona virus. This is a new kind of enemy, but with God we will defeat him. We will do so with determination, fierceness and national cohesion. 

These values ​​are the legacy of the fallen, the legacy of our loved ones. At test moments, they took the lead in protecting the home we all shared, the rebuilding plant, and so we owe them eternal debt.

I also know another thing: they would like us all to continue to live in security and health. This key consideration is guiding us this year - keeping alive, maintaining health and not endangering, not life nor health, in vain. I know how hard it is, because I want to, like you, to be near the grave of my brother, of blessed memory, as you would want to be near the graves of loved ones. But this year We will remember them in many other ways on this day - in stories, songs, movies, candle lighting, on-screen online meetings and above all - in our hearts.
