Tom Hanks reappears in isolation from coronavirus 0:32
(CNN) - Two of the most famous people who had covid-19 are willing to share their blood to help fight the disease.
In a recent episode of the “Wait, Wait… Don't Tell Me!” Podcast from the NPR network, Tom Hanks said that he and his wife Rita Wilson want to donate their blood for scientific research, since, after having the disease, it now contains antibodies against the coronavirus.
“Not only have they contacted us, but we asked: 'Do they want our blood? Can we donate plasma? '”Hanks said during the podcast. "And, in fact, we will now give it to the places that hope to work on what I would like to call 'Hank-ccine'," a pun that combines your last name with the word vaccine.
Hanks said he and Wilson feel "just fine and splendid." During the illness, they were quarantined in Australia, where he had been filming a movie and she offered various performances while promoting her album. They are both back home.
The "A Beautiful Day in the Neighboorhood" star reiterated that his wife had a worse time when they were sick.
"We had all the flu-like symptoms," he said. "My wife Rita was a little worse than me. It had a very high temperature. "
Hanks joked that he plans to be generous with the Hank-ccine.
"I am not trying to copyright it," he said.
The actor has a soft spot for the NPR show he was host and guest on three years ago.
"It's good to be back," said host Peter Sagal. "The source of the best reviews of my career."
Hanks was jokingly asked, "If there is a sequel, would you consider being on covid-20?"
"Yes, I would," said the star. "It would answer all the questions that remain."
