Andam 2020: a new edition open to former finalists and winners

In support of young fashion companies impacted by the Covid-19 crisis, the French competition opens applications to its former winners, and promises 350,000 euros in endowments to be shared between the two winners.

After the LVMH Prize, which announced on April 14 that it would cancel its June 5 final and distribute the € 300,000 prize money among the 8 finalists, it's Andam's turn to rethink its fashion competition. Here no cancellation but modalities reviewed and corrected in the light of the health crisis, considerably impacting the fashion industry. In this exceptional period and as an institution bringing together all the major public and private players in the fashion industry, Andam takes its responsibilities and acts for creation in a radically transformed framework. More than a price, Andam is, above all, a united movement that ensures the dynamism and sustainability of creative industries exposed to profound changes"Relates the press release.

Thus, the traditional award ceremony, which since 1989 has rewarded independent and emerging brands, is transformed this year. How? 'Or' What? By giving former finalists and winners the opportunity to compete again. A first prize of 200,000 euros will be awarded to a structure with more than 10 million euros in turnover. A second, of 150,000 euros, will reward a smaller brand with turnover of between 1 million and 10 million euros. Financial support allowing young fashion entrepreneurs to stay the course during this chaotic period, and to ensure the presentation of their next collection.

The Pierre Bergé price (100,000 euros) and that of innovation (50,000 euros) are maintained and open to innovative companies. Participants can apply online on the Andam website until June 8, 2020. An exceptional jury, made up of the 19 patrons of the association founded and directed by Nathalie Dufour, will meet virtually to deliberate on July 2. They will offer the winners access to several experts capable of supporting them in their various approaches.
