(CNN Spanish) - The Brazilian government decreed this Tuesday, for a period of 30 days, the exceptional and temporary restriction of foreigners - regardless of their nationality - arriving in the country by air.
This norm does not apply to immigrants with permanent residence or to professionals on mission of service from international organizations. Foreigners who are spouses, partners, children and parents of Brazilians or those authorized by the Brazilian government based on the public interest may also enter the country.
Disobedience to this measure may entail civil, administrative, and criminal liability, immediate repatriation or deportation, and disqualification of a request for refuge. The rule will take effect from the date of publication, this Tuesday, April 28.
