As civil protests intensify over the economic crisis, many believe that Hezbollah will seek to seize power in the country on the pretext of an "emergency" interpretation

In recent days, the severe economic crisis in Lebanon has taken to the streets tens of thousands of angry Lebanese, who have been furious with the branches of the fire-burning banks and clashed with local security forces. According to various reports, one demonstrator was killed in the riots in Tripoli and dozens of soldiers and police were injured in the violent clashes with the protesters.

The riots that started in Tripoli in the north of the country spread like wildfire to Beirut's capital and Tire and Sidon cities in the south. The Lebanese public does not appear to be a heir to the social remoteness imposed by the new government led by Hassan Diab, who, according to all estimates, is few in number.

Senior Lebanese political commentators believe that in the face of the country's economic crisis, the Hezbollah terrorist organization - through its political allies - will not rule and effectively seize control of the country, in which key roles are divided according to a sectarian key set more than half a century ago. Most of the population. Since then, much water has flowed into the Litani River, and adjustments and amendments to the government structure agreed upon in the Taif agreement signed in 1989 have not prevented the political rift. Today, the one who actually controls Lebanon is Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah, which is aimed at Tehran.

journalists and media in Lebanon affiliated with Iran and Hezbollah are obviously pointing a finger at Israel and the US as behind the riots Most Lebanese citizens, as well as senior journalists and major media outlets in Lebanon, strongly criticize Nasrallah and Hezbollah as encouraging chaos, violence and political instability in Lebanon - to reverse the crisis under cover of the crisis and seize power.

Hezbollah - through its political allies such as President Michel Aoun and his former son-in-law, Basel Jubran - has prevented the declaration of a state of emergency in the country when the Corona epidemic broke out. Reason: According to the Lebanese constitution, declaring a state of emergency passes control to the military and security forces in Lebanon, a move that Hezbollah strongly opposes, fearing that the Lebanese army and the internal security forces in the country have created the terrorist organization's steps and prevented it from continuing to act as a blind eye to the system.

Hezbollah is also preventing changes to the Lebanese central bank system, probably under direct directives from Tehran, despite the fact that the Lebanese government announced early in March this year that it had defaulted and could no longer pay its loans and reduce its $ 80 billion astronomical external debt. The country resists the fact that while the average Lebanese has to cope with the collapse of local currency, daily employee income totaling single dollars and the world's highest inflation rates - Hezbollah's close associates are smuggling tens of millions of dollars into the country.

The widespread social protest that erupted in Lebanon in October 2019 and took to the streets hundreds of thousands of Lebanese cheered against the government, causing much concern in the Hezbollah ranks, evaporating under the cover of the Corona epidemic. Hezbollah breathed a sigh of relief, as all efforts by the organization to suppress the widespread protest earlier were a serious failure.

Senior officials in the Lebanese political system have expressed concern in recent days in the Lebanese and Arab media following Lebanon's explosive situation. According to them, the economic crisis in Lebanon, coupled with the Corona epidemic, the collapse of the financial system and the failure of Prime Minister Diab to implement the economic reforms agreed after the resignation of former prime minister Saad Hariri and his government - will restore the political stalemate that paralyzed Lebanon in the past year. Many in Lebanon believe that combining these factors will lead Hezbollah to seize power in the country, whether in political ways or through a military coup under the "emergency" condition.

According to Lebanese commentators and senior officials, the target set by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Tehran's backing and support is the abolition of the sectarian key in the country as far as the ruling division is concerned, and the transfer of most of the power's focus in the political system, the military and the internal security and intelligence apparatus to the Shiite majority.
