Ankara-Sana
In continuation of the policy of muzzling mouths, the Supreme Council of Radio and Television of the Turkish system issued a decision today to close the Al-Hiwar channel on charges of "insulting" the President of the Turkish system Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
And the Turkish regime worked to restrict journalists opposing it, under the pretext of the attempted coup in the country in July 2016, as this regime closed more than 175 media outlets.
Several associations and press organizations, including trade unions, human rights committees, and NGOs, denounced the decision of the Supreme Council of Turkish Radio and Television.
Erdogan's policies are widely criticized by many media outlets, including the dialogue channel owned by Turkish businessman Simim Tebok currently residing in Cyprus who was previously leader of the Liberal Democratic Party in Turkey.
