Expected in a few weeks, the fourth generation of the Honda Yazz will be offered only with a hybrid powertrain whose characteristics have not yet been revealed but which we know will take up the operating principle of the hybrid powertrain of the CR- V Hybrid. Its 1.5 liter petrol engine will be combined with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. The innovative transmission will be based on a single pinion system.

The hybrid city car from the Japanese manufacturer preserves the design intelligence of previous models, namely record habitability in relation to its size and a rear bench seat whose seat can be raised to transport tall objects safely. Safety, Honda wanted it to the standards of the superior category. To reduce the risk of head and chest injuries to front passengers in the event of a side impact, the Jazz is the first model in its category to receive a front central airbag as standard. This equipment, which is part of an arsenal of ten airbags, is placed in the upper part of the driver's seat backrest. In the event of a side collision, it deploys in the space between the driver and the passenger, thus avoiding contact between the two occupants of the front seats. This system works with the pretensioners for the driver and passenger seat belts and the raised central armrest. According to Honda, this new front central airbag would reduce head injuries by 85% for the passenger on the side close to impact, and 98% for the passenger on the opposite side. This new passive safety equipment is part of a process to tighten Euro NCAP tests.
The new airbag completes the driving assistance battery on board the Jazz. Note the presence of a high definition panoramic camera which succeeds the multi-purpose camera and the active emergency braking system in town of the previous model.
