(CNN Spanish) - "Pop and cumbia are the rhythms that define me and my musical influences are Selena, Los Ángeles Azules, Cañaveral and Juanes", affirms the Mexican singer and songwriter Karla Vallín, who defines her music as pop- cumbia and is present in his first record production.

"Pop makes me feel empowered and cumbia are my roots and express my feelings as Mexican and Latin," says the singer from Aguascalientes and descendant of a family of musicians and composers, by telephone.

After promoting her first single 'Piropos', she now presents the second song, 'Algo immoral', a romantic song combined with Latin cumbia: “It has been a challenge and it has made me feel that the most important thing is to be honest and that is speaks. This song talks about how I took off the mask of myself and before society, it was to stop listening to society and listen to myself and those immoral things that socially were not correct. It is a romantic theme that talks about how I fell in love with this bad boy who invited me to do immoral things with whom I tried things that I didn't think I was going to do, ”says the 23-year-old singer.

What did it mean to present your first album to your father, Sergio Vallín -guitarist of the Mexican group Maná-?

Karla Vallín
“A lot of pressure on me. I felt that in my growth early in my career, I felt that he was somehow stealing my credit. Today it is just the opposite. I stopped fighting with those situations. I have nothing but love and admiration for him for what he does. I let my music and all my work speak for itself. Little by little people will get to know me as Karla Vallín and not the daughter of Sergio Vallín ”.

Karla assures that her first album is a fresh proposal, full of love, sincere about who she is. “I want people to vibrate with me and have fun listening to my songs. I really like the Du Woop and I like to go with the vintage sounds, if I am going to use a pianist, I like to have one that gives a touch of the 50s and 60s. I really like the style of Bruno Mars, Megan Trainor , Sam Smith and Dua Lupa, all of them from the pop world so cool and I mix it with my style ”.

"I am authentic, passionate, rebellious and raw" is how Vallín is defined, whose music you can already search on the various platforms. She is a singer that we will be following closely to see her growth.
