North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is reported to have reappeared on Friday, the official KCNA regime agency and another South Korean agency Yonhap News confirmed . If these versions are guaranteed, speculation that the North Korean leader was very ill, or that he had even died during surgery, is ended.

KCNA assured that Kim participated in the inauguration of a factory, in the first information from an official media about a public appearance of the leader since all kinds of rumors began to circulate.

Kim Jong Un "attended the ceremony" and "all the participants shouted 'hooray'" when he appeared, the official North Korean agency said. The act marked the completion of the construction of a fertilizer plant in Sunchon, in the province of South Pyongan .

Kim's last public appearance had been on April 11 , when he chaired a meeting of the North Korean Labor Party Politburo. Then nothing more was heard of him.

Subsequently, the rumors went around the world in the wake of Kim's absence in the official events of April 15 , in which the birth of the founder of the regime, Kim Il Sung, the grandfather of the current president, is commemorated. The official media in Pyongyang did not deny the reports of the possible death, although they continued to account for the official activity of the leader.

Thus, in the last two weeks they spread several messages from Kim, the last one on Monday, April 27. The North Korean leader conveyed his "appreciation" to workers building a tourist area in the Wonsan area, according to the official newspaper Rodong Sinmun.

The newspaper said that Kim "sent his thanks to the workers who actively supported with their efforts the construction of the tourist district of Wonsan Kalma," one of the great developments of the Pyongyang regime, which it hoped to launch in April before the pandemic.

Kim's longest absence had been 40 days , in September 2014, before returning with a cane after having ankle surgery.
