Berlin (dpa) - In the evening, more than 161,900 infections with the corona virus have been registered in Germany (previous day at 8:15 p.m .: more than 160,400 infections).

At least 6601 infected with the pathogen Sars-CoV-2 have reportedly died nationwide so far (previous day at 8:15 p.m .: 6401). This is the result of an evaluation by the German Press Agency, which takes into account the latest figures from the federal states.

According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of reproductions as of Thursday was 0.79. This means that ten infected people infect around seven to eight other people.

According to RKI estimates, around 126,900 people in Germany survived the infection. As for other countries, experts also expect a high number of unreported cases in Germany.

According to the statistics of the federal states, Bavaria has particularly high numbers of registered infections with more than 42,900 cases and at least 1886 deaths and North Rhine-Westphalia with more than 33,000 cases and at least 1261 deaths. The time when a new daily status is reported varies from state to state.

Based on 100,000 inhabitants, Bavaria has the most infections with a value of 328.2. The national average was 194.8. However, the number of tests performed per 100,000 inhabitants varies in the federal states.
