After a decree was issued to prevent attorney Dan Eldad's tenure, which the USSC confronted last week, Mandelblit announced that he will now take the senior role for himself
After the High Court last week issued a provisional order that actually prevents the Justice Minister from extending the tenure of State Attorney Dan Eldad, who resigned Friday at midnight, yesterday resumed the role of State's Attorney General, Dr. Abihai Mandelblit.

In a letter sent by President Mandelblit to members of the State Attorney's Office, which deals with the manner of the State Attorney's Office in the near future, he wrote that "as you know, the Acting State Attorney's Office is no longer staffed. In the current state of affairs, and until the position is filled, the State Attorney's Office will act in the manner in which it was conducted following the termination of the previous State's Attorney (Shai Nitzan), at a time when the Acting Officer was not staffed. "That is, the undersigned shall bear the overall administrative and professional responsibility for the work of the State Attorney's Office, with the professional and organizational management and guidance practiced by the Deputy Attorney General, each in his or her area of responsibility. Other sensitive issues will be brought before me, as well as other issues in accordance with my instructions. The Deputy State Attorney for Special Functions, Adv. Nurit Littman, will concentrate on the various administrative aspects of the Corona Period.
Mandblit added in his letter that the current move was done "in coordination with the deputies to the State Attorney, and in accordance with an assessment of the situation I have had with them. Later this week, a management meeting will be chaired by me."
The letter was signed by Mandelblit, stating that "these days present great challenges for us, on the national level, on our work in the State Attorney's Office, and on each of us on a personal level. I am convinced that together we will meet these challenges with great success, as we have met many challenges in recent years. I am full of appreciation for the State Attorney's Office, who, even in these challenging days, are constantly working for the good of the state and for the rule of law. "
