"Laboratory workers, nurses, student interns and five doctors (...) have been infected with the virus," writes the president of the Ordre des médecins, Dionadji Mbaiguinam. "In all, around thirty members of the nursing staff are infected." " The caregivers are not equipped as they should be," he told AFP on the phone. It is “through negligence that some have been infected” notably because of the lack of “protective equipment” and “training” , he denounces.

Contacted by AFP, the Ministry of Health of Chad had not yet reacted Monday early in the evening. Ranked among the poorest countries in the world, Chad counted, according to a last count made public on Friday, 117 people infected with the new coronavirus, including 10 deaths.

The government has put in place a curfew on its territory but has not yet established containment. Wearing a mask is recommended in public places and spaces but not compulsory.
