The Compulsory Quarantine for Certain Arrivals (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020 came into effect on April 19, 2020, amending the Compulsory Quarantine Regulations for Certain Arrivals (Chapter 599C) (Amended regulation"). The validity period of the amended Regulations has been extended to June 7, 2020, and according to the newly added section 4 (1) (b), the Chief Secretary for Administration is satisfied with the itinerary of a person or class of persons. The purpose of production operations that are in the interest of Hong Kong ’s economic development is necessary, and the person or category of persons may be exempted from compulsory quarantine.
The Chief Secretary for Administration has exempted the following categories of persons from compulsory quarantine from May 4, 2020 in accordance with the above provisions:
(i) Hold a valid business registration certificate issued under the Business Registration Ordinance (Chapter 310) and hold it in the Mainland The owner of a Hong Kong enterprise engaged in production operations, and a maximum of one person employed and authorized by the enterprise; or
(ii) a maximum of two persons employed and authorized by the enterprise mentioned in paragraph (i) above.
