Admittedly, the yards restarted at dawn, factories and warehouses reopened, as did public services, and dog owners were able to bring them to the park. But this first day of release from confinement was not the joyous release that the country expected after 55 days of confinement or almost, in a respect of the rules which surprised the Italians themselves.

It is true that on Monday there were no schools, no non-food shops, bars and restaurants really open. No rush, therefore, towards freedom, clearly postponed by the President of the Council, Giuseppe Conte: "The more scrupulous we are, the faster we will be able to find other areas of freedom" , he warned on Sunday, thereby justifying the few small freedoms regained, such as the right to see his parents - but not his friends -, to celebrate his deceased in a small committee, to go running or to walk without self-certification, but only in his commune.
